This is the agreement between you and Cottonora LLC for using Close Circle. We have kept it short and in plain language, because terms nobody reads protect nobody.

1. Who can use Close Circle
You must be 16 or older. If you are under 16, you may not use Close Circle, and we will delete the account if we find out.
You need to be able to enter a binding agreement where you live. If you cannot, you may not use the app.
2. What you get
Close Circle is a private journal that works with no account, and a way to share part of it with a small number of people if you choose to.
It is free. There is no paid tier, no subscription and nothing to buy.
We may change how the app works, and we may stop offering it. If we are shutting it down we will give you notice in the app and time to export your journal.
3. Your account
If you make one, keep it secure and do not let anyone else use it. Tell us at hello@ucaronur.com if you think someone else has got into it.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings, and it is immediate rather than a deactivation. What that removes is set out in the privacy policy.
4. What you write is yours
You own what you write. We claim no ownership of your journal, your check-ins, your photos or your comments.
When you share something with a circle you are giving us permission to store it and show it to that circle — that is what sharing means, and it is the only thing that permission covers. We do not use it for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not train anything on it.
Your private journal is not covered by any of this, because it never reaches us.
5. How to behave
Circles are small and private, which makes them easy places to hurt someone. So:
Do not post content that is illegal, that sexualises minors, that harasses or threatens a person, that incites violence, or that you do not have the right to post. Do not impersonate someone else. Do not use Close Circle to distribute malware, to scrape or automate against our servers, or to try to get at other people's data.
Do not share other people's private things. A circle is small enough that everyone in it can be identified. Treat what other people share in a circle as theirs.
What we do about it
The app gives you two tools, and you should use them before you need us:
- Blocking is mutual and quiet. You stop seeing them, they stop seeing you, and nobody is told.
- Reporting sends a check-in, a comment or a profile photo to us for review, with a copy kept so that deleting and re-posting cannot defeat the review.
When we review a report we may remove the content, and we may suspend or delete the account behind it. We keep the record of a report and its outcome even after the reported copy is deleted on the schedule in the privacy policy.
We are a very small operation. We do not pre-screen content, we review what is reported, and we do not promise a response time.
6. Ending it
You can stop at any time. Delete your account in Settings, or just delete the app — your journal is on your phone and does not need our permission to leave.
We can end it too, if you break section 5, if we are required to by law, or if we shut the service down. Where it is reasonable to, we will tell you first and give you a chance to export. Where the breach is serious — anything in the first paragraph of section 5 — we may act immediately.
Deleting your account does not delete the copies other people already saw. It deletes what we hold.
7. What we do not promise
Close Circle is provided as is. We do not promise it will be available without interruption, free of bugs, or that it will never lose data.
Back up what matters to you. The export in Settings exists for exactly this, works with no account, and takes one tap. Your journal lives on your phone, so a lost or broken phone is a lost journal unless you have exported it or your phone's own backup has it — the privacy policy sets out which of those applies to your device.
To the extent the law where you live allows it, we exclude implied warranties and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost data. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, and if you are a consumer you keep every right your local law gives you.
8. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Close Circle after that means you accept the change. If you do not, delete your account.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The state and federal courts sitting in Indiana have jurisdiction over any dispute that arises from them.
If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, that does not take away the protection of the mandatory law where you live. You keep every right your local law gives you and does not let you give up, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of your own country.
