How it is built
Your circles are shared
When you share a moment with a circle, a copy goes to our server so the people in that circle can see it. We can see those copies. So can they, because that is what sharing means.
Nothing crosses on its own
Nothing moves from the first half to the second unless you tap the thing that moves it. Signing in never uploads your journal; it only adds the ability to share.
Close Circle is free. There is no paid tier, no subscription and nothing to buy. You must be 16 or older to use it.
Support
Email us and a person reads it. That is the fastest route for a bug, a question, an account problem, or anything about your data.
For privacy requests — a copy of your data, a correction, a deletion, or an objection to processing — we answer within 30 days, as set out in section 12 of the privacy policy.
Deleting your account
In the app, open Settings, then “Your journal, your call”, then Delete account. It happens immediately and it is not a deactivation.
What is removed
Everything you authored on our servers: shared moments, photos, comments, reactions, votes, answers, badges, nudges, your blocks, your profile, your notification tokens, and any reports about you. If you own a circle, ownership passes to the longest-standing member so nobody else loses their history; if you were its only member, the circle goes too.
What we never had
Your journal. It is on your phone and it stays there — deleting your account cannot remove it, and neither can we. Delete the app to remove it, and remember your phone’s own backup may still hold a copy.
Export first. The delete flow offers it and you should take it. Export works with or without an account. If you never made an account, there is nothing on our side to delete — deleting the app is the whole of it.
